2 French Gras Bayonet Scabbard St Etienne 1879 Sword2 french gras abyonet & scabbard st. Etienne 1879 sword2 swords in this auction.
One with scabbard and one without. The one in the scabbard is in much better condition.
As the other appears to have been painted at one time(? ) the handle is rough and if there si an inscription it will need to be uncovered. The other is much betterit is inscribed with mle d'ormes de st. Etienne janiver 1879. A french gras bayonet & scabbard. T blade is in pretty good condition, some black sptos and some pre-rust areas. Girp shows some wear but is in overall nice condition. There are numerous hallmarks on the scabbard, cross guard and blade. Scabbard is also in excellent condition, brass pommel has a very nice original patina. The overall length si 25.5 inches long and blade is 20.5 inches long.
