Us Cavalry M1878 Canteen With Ria 1905 Attach StrapOriginal su army m1878 canteen not marked, in very good condition, issued during the indian and spanish american war period. This is an original us army cantene in very good condition, includes marked r. I. A. 1905 cavalry hanger, complete cork stopper with chain. Solid stitching, complete, the usual water staining, two small dents on hte front of the canteen, they not visible with the cover over the canteen. Late civli war manufacture converted for indian war use. This model canteen was in use until the 1910 model was issued. The hanger was clipped on the mcclellan saddle or to the belt.
